Vision:
NPPG will enable all pharmacy professionals to deliver outstanding care for the benefit of neonates, children and young people.
NPPG will enable all pharmacy professionals to deliver outstanding care for the benefit of neonates, children and young people.
Our vision will be achieved by advancing the education and training of pharmacy professionals to deliver outstanding patient care, by championing quality research and audit and by leading the national paediatric medicines agenda.
NPPG is an organisation that values inclusion and diversity within its membership. We will, as an organisation, review and promote inclusivity, diversity and wellbeing within its committee structure and the membership it serves.
Membership is open to any pharmacist, pharmacy technician or corporate body with a pharmaceutical interest in paediatric or neonatal pharmacy. Members will receive newsletters, relevant drug information letters, access to the NPPG web site and email discussion groups plus a reduced rate for the annual conference.
The group has links with various paediatric organisations. The Medicines Committee is a joint committee of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and the NPPG. The Medicines Committee has highlighted paediatrics at a Government level and as part of that framework a national paediatric formulary (Medicines for Children) has been produce. This venture has now joined forces with the BNF and in mid 2005 the first BNF for Children was distributed to all prescribers. NPPG also works closely with several Department of Health groups, as well as NICE and the Health Commission.
NPPG is a company limited by guarantee (4620347) and a registered charity (1117648).
The registered address is: c/o Profile Productions, Suite 213, Boundary House, London, W7 2QE
Various specialist and geographical subgroups enable members with related interests to share information and formulate policy. Currently these include the Paediatric Oncology Pharmacists group (POP), the Scottish Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists group (SNAPP) who have produced a distance learning package for paediatrics available here, the PICU group, the NICU group and the Scandinavian sub group. These groups now have discussion groups on the web site.
As a member you can help us by sharing your experience, we hope we can help you by disseminating everybody else’s experiences. What better way of showing your commitment to paediatric pharmacy than by being a member of the nation’s largest paediatric pharmacy group?
